Privacy policy

Mélida Karine Pierre respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information this site collects, why, how it is protected and how to exercise your rights (Quebec's Law 25). Last updated: October 1, 2026.

What we collect

  • Your contact details: first and last name, email, phone, city.
  • Your request details: occasion, date, place, number of guests, budget, menu preferences, allergies and dietary restrictions, message.
  • If you book: your proposal, invoices and payment status. Card numbers never go through this site: they are entered with our payment provider.
  • If you fill in a guest allergy form: the name and allergies you provide.

Why

Only to answer your request, prepare your proposal, plan the menu around allergies, invoice, get paid and contact you about your event. Your information is never sold or used for advertising.

Who has access

The chef has access. To run the site, some providers process it on our behalf: hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery (Google's Gmail), card payments (Stripe) and, when the chef uses it, a writing assistant (Anthropic). These providers may be located outside Quebec, so your information may be processed outside the province, with suitable contractual protections.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses no advertising or third-party tracking tools (no Google Analytics, no Facebook or TikTok pixel). One technical cookie is used only for the chef's login to her private area. To know how many people visit the site and which app they arrive from (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google…), we count visits ourselves, anonymously: no cookie, no IP address and nothing that could identify you is kept. Only the page viewed, the general origin, the device type (phone or computer) and a random number specific to your browser tab, erased when you close it, are recorded. Clients' private pages are not counted, your browser's "Do Not Track" signal is honoured, and these statistics are deleted after 13 months.

Retention

Your information is kept as long as needed to serve you, then to meet legal obligations (including accounting and tax). It is then deleted or anonymized.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your information, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Person in charge of personal information: Mélida Karine Pierre — chefmelidapierre@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

Privacy incidents

If an incident presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
